About my writing...
My mother was a nuclear physicist, who loved to spin, weave, play viola, swim, read books (never clean house) and her first book was a cookbook. What she left me with was an insatiable curiosity. If there’s one thing I write for, it is a sense of discovery – I want to discover the character, the culture, the story, the mythology behind it, the details of every fascinating aspect. I can’t say enough how much the internet has freed up my research.
Each book transports me on a journey, where I learn and learn again, how to write. Twenty years later, it only gets more challenging. I love that. It’s like the reason I love Yoga – there’s always so much room to stretch!
