Adventures
I live with a restless family, happy when we are having our assumptions challenged. Nothing better than long-term travel to do that. My travel started with going to Lahore, Pakistan for my last year of high school. My family relocated for several years, but sadly I only was there for one before I had to head off to college. Lahore American School was nurturing, joyful, academically challenging, and came complete with wonderful, fascinating friends. I feel sorry for every NYC taxi driver who has this weird American who gets all excited when I find out they are from Pakistan.
With our own family, Jopln and I spent a year in Japan (94-95) and the following year in Norway. The learning was rich and deeply influenced our daughter Anika's life. She became a world citizen. Because of this, we decided to do the same for McKinley, but this time, we headed for Taiwan. With internet improvements, this time we could blog about it.
To get the story in order, you have to check the dates and read from the bottom up.

Our daughter Anika is off on adventures of her own now, blogging all the way. She started in Italy for two years at United World College, with eye-expanding summers in India and Egypt. This Jr. Year Abroad, she is exploring South America. Her musings, some heart-wrenching, some laugh-provoking, are here:
